The Utah Shakespeare Festival and Southern Utah University are thrilled to host the forty-sixth annual Shakespeare Competition. We are hopeful the competition will be held in person, but that is subject to change depending on current health and safety restrictions. There are also virtual components being planned that will be available to schools unable to travel to Cedar City. More details to come.

Mission Statement
The Shakespeare Competition cultivates the art of theatre, dance, and music, by providing active observation of peer and professional performance, educational creations based on Shakespeare’s plays and poems, and personal evaluation by working theatre and dance professionals.
Receive Southern Utah University Credit
Earn one university credit by participating in the Shakespeare Competition. This opportunity is available to all students who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2021-22 academic year. More information and an application will be coming soon.

In addition, teachers and students may use our searachable database of Shakespeare scenes. The database contains hundreds of scenes, and you may sort them by play, characters, number of lines, etc.
